Kyle Bowen and Dean Vickerman have flown the flag for Melbourne United as part of an Australia Select team that played a pair of games over the weekend against Japan in Sapporo.

Facing former United Championship winner Yudai Baba, in Game 1, Bowen was part of the starting lineup, putting together a solid performance as Australia registered a come-from-behind, one-point victory.

The following day, the United forward came off the bench in what was a back-and-forth contest, which ultimately finished in a draw, with no overtime being played because it was a friendly.

Back in Melbourne, Tanner Krebs continued his dominant run through the NBL1 South, scoring 32 points and pulling down 11 rebounds in a win over Dandenong.

Without Shea Ili, who has joined the New Zealand Tall Black ahead of their upcoming Olympic Qualifying Tournament, Campbell Blogg and Tom Koppens also stepped up for the Sabres, combining for 29 points, 14 rebounds and five assists.

Across the ditch in the NZNBL, Rob Loe led Auckland to a comfortable victory at home over Otago, giving them 14 wins through 17 games.
