Michael Randall breaks down the best options for United players to pick up heading into Round 9

Melbourne United players are among the most popular and productive in NBL SuperCoach.

Jo Lual-Acuil Jr has the fourth-highest average of all players at 33.4 points per game while Luke Travers is owned by 30 per cent of all SuperCoaches.

But it is the ladder leader’s on fire captain Chris Goulding who United fans should zero in for their SuperCoach teams.

CG43 is coming off one of his finest performances - 35 points, eight threes - in a resounding comeback win over Sydney that translated to a whopping 51 SuperCoach points.

That lifted his three-round average to 33.3 - elite, given each of those rounds were single games.

The 35-year-old sharpshooter is priced at $292,300, right now, but this will be the last time you see him under $300k, given his break even is in the negative at -4, meaning he only needs to score 1 point to make money.

The Taipans are the second-best team in the NBL at defending the three-point line, holding opponents to 30 per cent, but Goulding is one of the very few players who are match up proof - you can’t stop him getting his shots, it just depends on his radar.

So if you’re looking to add a United player in Round 9, don’t go past the greatest shooter in the NBL’s 40-minute era who has shown no signs of slowing down.
