Melbourne United will face the JackJumpers in a do-or-die Game 4 on Thursday.

Melbourne United have gone down in Game 3 of the NBL24 Championship series.

Matthew Dellavedova got the home side going with a three-ball before the rest of Melbourne’s hit the scoreboard.

A Shea Ili steal and floater, followed by five quick points from Luke Travers and another Delly triple saw United stretch their lead out to nine points.

Back and forth basketball reduced the defecit, however some strong play, followed by Ian Clark bucket put Melbourne up by 11.

Tasmania were able to put together a run of their own, closing the margin to five points at the first break.

Wanting to push their lead back out, Clark came out of the break with a sweet floater, before free throws from Jo Lual-Acuil Jr and Chris Goulding kept Melbourne in front.

As they had the entire series, the JackJumpers stormed back, taking the lead after a pair of Milton Doyle three-pointers.

Looking for some magic, CG43’s brilliance shone through, banking in a three-ball of his own to give United back the lead at the major break.

Coming out of half-time, Melbourne was able to put together a strong run, led by more Goulding shot-making.

Three three-pointers from the captain saw United’s lead balloon out to 10 points towards the end of the period, however a late triple from the JJs meant Melbourne would take a seven-point lead heading into the final term.

While an Ariel Hukporti poster dunk got the sold out John Cain Arena crowd on their feet, United’s lead quickly evaporated following some long-range shot making.

The remainder of the quarter was a slug-fest, with both teams trading the lead.

Melbourne were about to grab the lead with seconds remaining, however a shot from Jack McVeigh ultimately won the game for Tasmania.

United will now head to MyState Bank Arena on Thursday for a do-or-die Game 4.
