Anticipation for the 2022/23 Hungry Jack’s NBL season continues to grow after the unveiling of Melbourne United’s schedule on Monday morning.

Kicking off on Sunday, 2 October, United will hit the court for 28 games, with all 14 of their home games set to be played in front of the best fans in the league at John Cain Arena.

Melbourne will play 13 of their opening 20 games at home, before heading on the road for all of January in a string of seven consecutive road games. United shall then return home for their final game of the regular season.

Among the 14 home games, there will be a collection of can’t miss events for fans, such as The Multicultural Game, Indigenous Round, Cup Day Eve, a pair of Throwdown Games, and perhaps most excitingly, the return of United’s Open Air Game.

Looking at the schedule, Head Coach Dean Vickerman said his side is poised for another thrilling season.

“We’re all excited to get back out on the court and compete for another championship.

“I think our schedule is fair, we can hopefully build some strong momentum at home throughout the first few months of the season leading into our road games in January.

“We’ve proved over the past two seasons that we can get the job done on the road and win in other team’s gyms, so that road spell over the last third of the season could work well for us.”

With Vickerman focussed on the on-court aspects of the new schedule, CEO Nick Truelson says United’s slate of games is a massive win for fans.

“We are excited about the season returning to its traditional summer slot between October and March and can’t wait to play in front of full houses again at John Cain Arena.

“One of the key requests we had for our home games was to have as many family-friendly Sunday games as possible and we are delighted to have 7 out of our 14 home games allocated during this coveted time.

“There are also a host of other marquee themed games that we will be providing our members, fans and partners. We are also excited to have nine games live on free-to-air 10 Peach along with ESPN and Kayo to provide us with strong national reach and scale.”

With the hype beginning to build for the upcoming season, Melbourne United Memberships are selling fast, with some categories already sold out.

United Memberships are the best and most affordable way for fans to watch the NBL and be part of their favourite club, so now is the TIME TO UNITE!
