Despite going down in heartbreaking fashion on Sunday afternoon, Melbourne United’s confidence has not waivered heading into a do-or-die Game 3 at home on Wednesday night.
United put themselves in a position to do the hardest thing in the Playoffs; win on the road, but fell just short in Wollongong.
When asked on RSN 927 whether the loss had rattled Melbourne’s playing group ahead of Game 3, Assistant Coach Jacob Chance gave an emphatic answer.

“No, never,” he said.
“We’ve got a great group and we put ourselves in this position to have home court on Wednesday night in front of a great crowd at John Cain Arena.
“We’re backing our group and our systems. We were close last night, we gave ourselves a really good chance (to win), it’s hard to win on the road in the playoffs in the NBL and we had a really good chance to win that one last night.
“We’ll take a lot of lessons from it and get ready to go on Wednesday night, it’s going to be a hell of a game.”

United have good reason to be confident going into Game 3, having not lost back-to-back games all season, and carrying an eight-game winning streak at John Cain Arena into the contest.
A massive reason for this has been the energy provided by the Melbourne United faithful, who have packed out their home court all season.
