In the South, Brad Newley and the Frankston Blues secured a second-place finish on the ladder with a win over Campbell Blogg’s Sandringham side.
Newley was dominant, top scoring with 26 points, while Blogg tallied a solid 12 points and five dimes.
Elsewhere Zac Triplett dropped his final game of the season with Keilor, going down by 31-point against Geelong.
NBL1 South - Saturday 15th July:
~Frankston Blues 99 def Sandringham Sabres 90
Newley: 26 points, five rebounds, two steals in 31 minutes.
Blogg: 12 points, five assists, three rebounds in 30 minutes.
~Geelong United 116 def Keilor Thunder 85
Triplett: Three points, two assists.
Moving to the Central Conference, Malith Machar stuffed the stat-sheet for Forestville, tallying 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.
His effort helped lift the Eagles to a 12-point win over Central Districts, their 13th of the season, good for second place on the ladder.

Central Districts 95 def by Forestville Eagles 107
Machar: 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals, two blocks in 27 minutes.
Heading back to the South, Blogg and the Sabres bounced back quickly, picking up a win on Sunday over the Melbourne Tigers to solidify a top-four finish heading into finals.
