Having won five of their past seven games to insert themselves well and truly back into postseason contention, Melbourne United are looking to continue to build on their momentum across their final six games.
Speaking after his side’s New Year’s Day win in Brisbane, Head Coach Dean Vickerman said teams should be wary of what United are capable of if they reach the playoffs.
“We set that target (of the playoffs) when we got our full team back and we’ve really only lost the one game with our full group together,” he said.
“We play great teams (across our last six games)... If we’re able to beat those teams and make the playoffs, we’ll be scary.”
A big reason for Melbourne’s recent run has been the play of Rayjon Tucker, who over the past seven games, has scored the ball at the highest rate in the league.
Speaking to RSN927 this morning, Tucker said he and his teammates remain confident they can not only make a run towards the playoffs, but contend for a Championship.

“We finally got all our people together, things are starting to click and we’re getting on a little bit of a roll,” he said.
“We’re trying to make a playoff run. If we get that playoff berth, I feel like we have a great chance to be a Championship team.
“We’re just making sure we do what we’re supposed to do over these last few weeks of the season and give ourselves the best possible chance to make that playoff berth.”
United’s next game will come against the Tasmania JackJumpers on Saturday 7 January from 5:30pm.
