A letter to our Members

To the Melbourne United faithful,

Well, what a year it’s been.
By now we would normally be up to about Round 8 of the regular NBL season. But 2020 had other plans.

After two lockdown periods, countless days without live sport and far too much time spent inside we are finally making our way to our new normal.

In the spirit of our ‘Thanksgiving Week’ we wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank our Members and our Corporate Hospitality Members for sticking by us through 2020, despite the endless uncertainties.

Like many Victorians our team was hugely impacted by the pandemic, but our players have taken this setback and turned it into an opportunity to become even stronger than before.

We don’t take for granted the complexity of asking you to commit to our club for the 2020-21 Season, when we weren’t able to tell you if there would even be one. But thankfully, and with great pleasure, we are extremely excited to say that the league is on the right track to be able to deliver a season to be excited about.

It’s been mentioned a lot lately by our players, the importance of having a full John Cain Arena (formally Melbourne Arena) and how this impacts the way in which the team play.

When our fans are loud and behind us, that’s when we play our best basketball.

We have really missed seeing you on our sidelines this year, but we can still feel your support.

As we work to finalise our roster, we want you to know that without you standing with us, this upcoming season wouldn’t be possible.

So, from everyone at Melbourne United we want to say thank you. Thank you for your unwavering support of our club.

Your dedication and commitment to our team, to our club, to everything we do has not gone unnoticed.
