Blockbuster home games highlight NBL27 schedule

NBL27 is sure to be one of the biggest seasons in the club’s history, and our home schedule reflects exactly why.

Featuring a star-studded lineup, including the returning Joe Ingles, fans are set for a slate of spectacular home games for our upcoming campaign.

This includes seven huge Saturday primetime games, providing the perfect opportunity to pack John Cain Arena and experience the league’s premier gameday atmosphere.

It all starts on Saturday 19 September when the Adelaide 36ers step onto our home court for a thrilling opening game of the NBL27 season. Holding a 19-4 record over the Sixers inside John Cain Arena, history will be on our side as we look to kick off the season with a bang.

In October, we’ll face off with the Cairns Taipans (Sunday 3 October), giving families a chance to get out and enjoy some live hoops on the final day of school holidays, before welcoming in the past two NBL Champions (Illawarra - Sunday 18 October, Sydney - Saturday 25 October).

The former of these be our Grassroots Game, where we shine a spotlight on the great local clubs and associations paving the pathway for young hoopers across Melbourne, while the latter will see United celebrate our seventh annual Multicultural Game, as the club embraces the wide-ranging cultures that make Melbourne such a special city with a free festival outside of the arena, as well as exciting activations and another amazing bespoke uniform.

November sees us play four home games, starting with our annual Melbourne Cup Eve showcase, this time against the New Zealand Breakers (Monday 2 November).

A battle with the Brisbane Bullets (Saturday 7 November) will follow before our first home Throwdown of the season in a matchup with the South East Melbourne Phoenix (Saturday 14 November).

A week later we’ll host a celebration of Indigenous culture as part of the NBL’s Indigenous Round when we take on the Breakers (Saturday 21 November).

Looking to gain all the momentum we can before our long road trip due to the Australian Open, December’s three games, starting with our Member Appreciation Game against the Bullets (Sunday 6 December), before our first home Bass Strait Battle as we challenge the Tasmania JackJumpers (Saturday 12 December), before finishing with the Original and best Open Air Game versus the Cairns Taipans (Wednesday 23 December) are all must-attend affairs.

January will see the team return for a pair of games in Bendigo inside of Red Energy Arena.

The first will see us host the Adelaide 36ers (Thursday 7 January) as part of the NBL’s Pride Round before we return two weeks later for our final Ignite Cup Game of the season, a sure to be fierce Bass Strait Battle against the Tasmania JackJumpers (Wednesday 20 January).

We will then make our long anticipated return to John Cain Arena in February, with the team set to take the court in front of our home fans for the first time in 45 days in a matchup with the Perth Wildcats (Sunday 7 February).

Leading into what is hopefully a long playoff run will then be two blockbuster games in three days, starting with Throwdown 36 against the Phoenix (Thursday 11 February) before closing the regular season taking on the Illawarra Hawks (Saturday 12 February).

The only way to lock in your seat to each and every one of these games inside John Cain Arena is by becoming a Full-Season Member.

A Full Season Membership is the best value way to enjoy all 14 Melbourne United home games throughout NBL27. Full season packages start from just $22.86 per game for Adults and $57.14 per game for a Family Package (2 Adult, 2 Juniors).
