Come NBL25, that will be no different, as fans can expect the club’s collection of themed games to be back once again.

Kicking off these can’t miss home games are our October Super Sunday games, which will see United take to the court at home for four consecutive Sunday afternoon games, starting with our home opener against the Cairns Taipans on 6 October.

The return of the league’s most intense rivalry will also take place during these quartet of games, with Throwdown XXVI set for 20 October. Throwdown XXVI will also mark the occasion where Melbourne United will celebrate diversity and inclusion through the ever-popular Multicultural Game. The Multicultural Game has become a fan-favourite event, with cultures from across the world and throughout Melbourne, celebrated in style. Melbourne United will again adorn a custom Multicultural uniform, and the game will also be supported by the Multicultural Festival.

Closing out the Super Sunday games, the club will put on its annual celebration of local basketball with The Grassroots Game on 27 October.

In Round 7, things will get spooky when Melbourne host the Sydney Kings on Halloween night (31 October) before a Melbourne Cup Day Eve matchup with the always competitive New Zealand Breakers on 4 November.

Entering December, United will look to give back to its amazing supporters through The Member Appreciation Game on 8 December.

The jewel in the crown of the themed game calendar is, of course, the original and best Open Air Game in the league. This game will be the club’s final home game before the Australian Open break, and will be played on 23 December, in what is always one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season.

This instalment of the always unforgettable matchup will carry some extra spice, as United host the Tasmania JackJumpers in the Battle of the Bass Strait.

After seven straight games on the road across January, Melbourne will make their return to John Cain Arena for a pair of massive contests to close the regular season.

First, they will clash with the JackJumpers once again in the final instalment of the Battle of the Bass Strait on 1 February.

To round out the regular season, the South East Melbourne Phoenix will step onto our home court for Throwdown XXVIII on 8 February.

United will also take part in the NBL’s Indigenous Round, Pride Round, and Heritage Round, which will be announced at a later date.
