The 20-year pro will continue to work with the club moving forward

Melbourne United is excited to announce that Brad Newley will remain with the club, moving from the court to the front office.

Having finished his third season with United, Newley will now work collectively across the community and commercial departments while assisting in the club’s Player Sponsorship program.

Newley touched on his anticipation at beginning this next step of his career in the sport he loves.

“I’m really excited to move into this chapter of my career,” he said.

“Over the past 20 years I think I’ve been good to this sport, and now I’m fortunate enough that the sport is being kind to me as I get to stay involved after my playing days have finished.

“I’m glad I can stay involved with basketball and the club up in the office and hopefully help us achieve our goals in whatever way I can.”

This enthusiasm was echoed by Melbourne United CEO Nick Truelson.

“We’re proud to have Brad joining our front office team,” he explained.

“Keeping someone who has given so much to this sport involved in the game is crucial, and is something we’ve endeavoured to do with past players such as Adam Ballinger, Nathan Crosswell and Erik Wickstrom.”

“We believe Brad will be a fantastic addition to our group, whether that be in the community, at schools, within corporate hospitality or providing inner sanctum experiences on game day.”
