Ian Clark is no stranger to massive crowds.
Whether it be NCAA Tournament games across his time at Belmont University, NBA Finals games with the Golden State Warriors, or sold-out showdowns inside the NBL, he has felt energy from hundreds of thousands of fans over the course of his career.
Despite this, there was something different when he took the court in Adelaide’s final game of NBL23: a matchup with Melbourne United, inside of a sold-out Join Cain Arena.
With both teams needing a win to keep their postseason hopes alive, Clark said the energy he felt from the Melbourne United faithful was unique.
“It was awesome, the stakes couldn’t have been higher and those fans were going crazy,” he told MU Media.
“As a pro that’s all you can ask for from your fans. I’m looking forward to having them cheer me on.”
Stepping away from what he wants to achieve with United with his play, Clark says making a positive impact within the community is a major priority while in Melbourne.
“Outside of what I’m doing on the court, I want to be a good teammate, be a good guy in the community, someone that’s there for the fans,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to being a part of this club and this community.”
With United’s addition of Clark, Dean Vickerman’s side is nearly complete ahead of the beginning of NBL24.
With so much excitement surrounding the team, the time is now to Bring The Blue and become a member today.
With Premium, Gold and Silver full season memberships fully sold out, you’ll have to get in quick to secure your seat for every home game at John Cain Arena this season.
