In a battle of 2-1 teams, United’s Friday night clash with the Perth Wildcats has the potential to be a spectacular showcase of talent all over the floor.
Having won more games at RAC Arena than any other opposing coach, Dean Vickerman is acutely aware of what it will take to secure the important road victory.

“Going into Perth, they’re one of the best offensive teams in the league and have been since John Rillie arrived,” he said.
“They’re going to challenge us in a number of areas in the pace that they play at, the shooting ability they have, the athletes they have. Currently we’re ranked number one in defence and hopefully sustained pressure can build and allow us to hopefully create some runs over in the jungle.”
United Captain Chris Goulding is equally excited for the contest. Like his coach, Goulding has won more games than any opposing player at RAC Arena, and will be looking to do the same alongside former Wildcat Luke Travers come Friday.
This will be Travers’ first meeting against his former team since signing with United in the offseason.
Goulding believes the game is a perfect opportunity for the 22-year-old to showcase his continued development in front of friends and family.

“Luke’s good, he’s finding his feet and has shown glimpses of how amazing he can be,” he continued.
“For him, what he wants to do is show that consistently and what a great opportunity to show what a complete player he is against your old team in a sold-out stadium.
“We can’t wait to get there and try to get a win for him because we’re loving having him on our team.”
Fans can tune in to the matchup on ESPN via Kayo from 9:30pm AEDT.
