Dalton dominates as Eltham goes top

Written by Melbourne United Media

A huge performance from NBL23 Development Player Callum Dalton has lifted the Eltham Wildcats into top spot in the NBL1 South Conference.

The big man dominated all over the court, finishing with 27 points, including five three-pointers and 11 rebounds in a win over Ringwood.

The victory propelled the Wildcats over Brad Newley’s Frankston Blues, who dropped into second after a loss to Knox. Newley tallied 15 points, three rebounds and a pair of steals.

Rounding out the top four of the Conference is Sandringham, who improved their record to 8-4 following a pair of wins over Mt Gambier and North West Tasmania.

Campbell Blogg was limited in Saturday night's game against the Pioneers before coming alive on Sunday, where he knocked down four triples and finished with 18 points.

David Barlow was solid in both games for the Sabres, averaging 8.5 points and 6.5 rebounds off the bench across the weekend.

It was a difficult weekend for Zac Triplett and his Keilor Thunder, who slid down into 13th place following a pair of losses.

United’s young shooter did his all to keep his side in both games, finishing the weekend with averages of 22.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
