Despite a pair of tough losses in Round 9, Melbourne United’s coaching group is remaining positive.
Sitting a few games out of the postseason play-in, Assistant Coach Darryl ‘Dmack’ McDonald is remaining steadfast with his belief that his side can make a strong push over its final 13 games.
Speaking to RSN 927 this morning, Dmack touched on his confidence heading into the back-half of the season.

“There’s no doubt we still feel like we’ve got an opportunity to make the finals, and we’ll continue to push that,” he said.
“It’s been tough but we’ve had guys coming in and out, even this week with Ice (Isaac Humphries) going out, he’s a big part of what we do.
“When you can’t get guys on the floor it kind of messes up your synergy and everything you want to do. I guess a good thing for us is that hopefully we’ll have a full team coming back on Saturday.”
It is looking increasingly likely that both Isaac Humphries and Shea Ili will return to the lineup for Melbourne’s matchup with the Brisbane Bullets, who sit one spot above them on the ladder.
Humphries has been strong this season, leading the league in blocks per game, while Ili has looked great in his limited games, helping United to a 2-1 record in his three games.
“Getting Shea (Ili) back and getting Ice back for Saturday will be good for us,” Dmack continued.
“We’re not doubting what we can do, because we know we can win games… We’re staying positive, we’re going to keep pushing this thing and keep fighting until the end.”
United will host the Bullets for the first time this season at John Cain Arena from 8pm. Tickets remain available here.
