We are set to face off with the Brisbane Bullets in our second game of the NBL Blitz on Saturday evening.
Following a nail-biting defeat against Perth on Wednesday, the contest presents our final chance to tally as many points on the Blitz standings as possible before our flight home to Melbourne.
Fresh off a win against the Sydney Kings, the Bullets will be looking to maintain their momentum in hopes of claiming their second consecutive Loggins-Bruton Cup.
WHAT’S THE WORD?
Playing in his first game with United, Jesse Edwards gave fans a glimpse of what he is capable of in NBL26.
Tallying 13 points and nine rebounds, Edwards touched on his feelings following his Wednesday night debut.
“(There were) a lot of good things and a lot of things we can improve on,” he said.
“Overall, this is a really good experience to learn from. Milt (Doyle) just said to the team ‘we gave up too many offensive rebounds and made too many turnovers’ but they’re all things we can improve on.”
WHO’S HOT, WHO'S NOT
Now perfect across their first two preseason games, the Bullets have showcased an ability to get up and down the court with their new-look lineup.
Import guard Javon Freeman-Liberty has been a standout, averaging 22 points per game in the pair of contests.
Dean Vickerman will be hoping to slow the American guard down, while building on the positives from our first two preseason victories.
Having beaten the Bullets in 13 of our previous regular season 14 meetings, Vickerman will be looking to take what worked from those matchups and put together a four quarter performance.
