We are set to play our final preseason game on Friday evening

With just over one week until our season opening game of the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season, we are set for one final preseason test, on the road against the Brisbane Bullets.

Having faced off recently at the NBL Blitz, we will be looking to replicate the performance we put together in Canberra, which saw us register the largest win of the tournament (98-60).

For Brisbane, this will be an opportunity to get a few more of their players on the court and build chemistry prior to the start of their upcoming campaign.

WHAT’S THE WORD?

Perhaps the most impressive performer from our 38-point drubbing of the Bullets at the Blitz was new-look point guard Tyson Walker, who sliced through Brisbane’s defence on his way to 18 points in just 24 minutes.

Speaking live on SEN this week, Walker touched on how he is feeling about the upcoming season, and his new group of teammates.

“I think we have a really good roster,” he said.

“A mixture of some young guys and some vets who have been in the league for a while so there’s a lot of learning going on from the younger guys and a lot of teaching from the older guys, so it’s going really well.

“(United) just seemed like the right place to be. This is a known program that values winning, so I just wanted to be a part of something special.”

WHO’S HOT, WHO'S NOT

Outside of Walker, two players who shined in our win a few weeks ago were Finn Delany and Jesse Edwards, who combined for 29 points and 17 rebounds while only missing a single shot.

Delany has been a stand out across the preseason, scoring in double figures in every contest he’s appeared in, while Edwards has slotted in well since arriving from the Netherlands, averaging a double-double in his two outings.

For Brisbane, they will hope to get more than 22 combined points from their import trio, who shot just 5/22 when the two teams last met.
