A trio of Melbourne United players were recognised for their hard work and dedication to the team at Melbourne United’s awards evening on Friday.

Club captain Chris Goulding took home the team’s MVP award for a spectacular season which saw him earn All-NBL selection after leading the league in three-point shooting once again.

It was a special season for CG43, who surpassed the 400 game and 1,000 three-pointers milestones, while putting up his best scoring numbers since the NBL20 season.

Import big-man Marcus Lee was honoured for his effort protecting the hoop, earning the club’s Defensive Player of the Year award.

The American’s impact on the team across his 17 games cannot be understated, as Lee finished second in the league in blocked shots, only behind his teammate Isaac Humphries, while registering advanced stats unlike any the NBL had ever seen.

The club’s SHARE Award, which goes to the player who best exemplifies the club’s values of Selfless, Hard, Accountable, Relentless, Execute, went to Callum Dalton.

Coming off what he described as “the hardest year of my life” following an ACL tear last season, Dalton worked diligently to return to the court, culminating in the heartwarming moment when he knocked down a three is his first game back in the lineup.

Off the court, the Vince Crivelli Club Person of the Year went to Community & Engagement Manager Nicola Parkinson for her efforts connecting the club with their supporters at the grassroots level.
