As we approach the return of our annual Grassroots Game, which will take place this Sunday inside John Cain Arena against the Cairns Taipans, it is crucial we shine a light on the importance of junior associations across Victoria.
That is why we as a club are always excited to embrace our over 200 Grassroots Members, who have signed up to work closely with us to help grow the game within the community.
The free membership provides clubs and associations to access open training sessions and other events, discounts on Coaches Academy memberships for junior coaches, and exclusive opportunities at The Grassroots Game.
Melbourne United General Manager - Community Engagement and Programs, Nicola Parkinson, touched on the impact she has been working closely with our Grassroots Members.
“The Grassroots Game shows what our program is all about – stands full of kids and families in their local club jerseys, kids on centre court, and the whole community coming together,” she said.
“Over time, The Grassroots Membership has become one of the best ways we connect with clubs. It’s created real benefits for them and brought more fans into the game.”
