Hukporti, Knicks claim NBA title

Former Melbourne United Next Star Ariel Hukporti has helped the New York Knicks claim their first NBA title in 53 years.

Despite appearing sparingly across the Championship Series, Hukporti made an impact when inserted into the contest.

In Game 4, Hukporti played three minutes, swatting one shot in New York’s historic 29-point comeback win, while in the series-clinching Game 5, the big-man tallied an offensive rebound, a block and an assist in two minutes, while also being subbed in for the final seconds to bolster the Knicks presence on the glass.

He joins Matthew Dellavedova (2016), Ian Clark (2017), and Jack White (2023) as former United players to claim NBA titles.
