Ignite Cup set for Canberra, new four-team finals format

Melbourne United are set to compete for a ticket to Canberra with the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Ignite Cup Final now scheduled for the country's capital.

Over the course of the season, we will face off against the Adelaide 36ers (7 October), Perth Wildcats (16 December) Cairns Taipans (23 December) and Tasmania JackJumpers (20 January) in our Ignite Cup matchups.

Teams will earn points on the Ignite Cup table for winning individual quarters, and winning games. The top four teams will advance to the Ignite Cup Finals series, where they’ll compete for a share in $550,000 in prize money - the largest prize pool in League history.

AIS Arena will host a new twist on the concept, with the tournament now set to conclude across two massive nights of basketball, with semi-finals on Friday 19 February and a blockbuster decider on Sunday 21 February.

The Andrew Gaze MVP awards will also be presented from the Great Hall in Parliament House.
