Inaugural LifeChanger Cup to be decided between United, Hawks

Melbourne United will look to secure some silverware across their next two games at home against the Illawarra Hawks.
The pair of games will make up games 2 and 3 of the LifeChanger Cup, a new series launched in NBL22.
Founded in 2016, the LifeChanger Foundation is committed to addressing the challenges that youth face today and creating a pathway to positive self-identity. LifeChanger is a preventative mental health and wellbeing non-profit that empowers young people to live thriving, resilient lives.
United forward Mason Peatling touched on the importance of the game ahead of the weekend.
“It’s great to be a part of the LifeChanger Cup this year for our games against Illawarra.
“We’ve partnered with LifeChanger over the past few years and it’s been great to get a bit of insight into the work they do across Australia.
“We want to thank LifeChanger for their support of our club but we also want to thank them for the work they do tackling such an enormous challenge for our youth. Hopefully the LifeChanger Cup is something we can do to aid them on their quest.”
As part of the initiative, coaches from both teams will sport LifeChanger pins and QR codes will be set up around John Cain Arena as a way for patrons to donate to the worthy cause.
United took home the victory in Game 1 of the series back in January, beating the Hawks 88-84 thanks in part to a 33-point outburst from Mathew Dellavedova.
