Melbourne United Assistant Coach Jack Fleming is set to depart the organisation ahead of the NBL27 season to join the coaching staff at the Tasmania Jewels WNBL Club.
Having come on board for the NBL26 season, Fleming played a significant role in our player development and scouting, helping the club to a fifth 20-win season in six campaigns.
Ahead of his departure, Fleming thanked Melbourne United’s staff, players, partners and supporters for welcoming him into the organisation, and championing the efforts of he and his fellow coaches.
“The past 12 months at Melbourne United have been very special for myself and my family,” he said.
“Moving back home to be around family as we welcomed our first child, while also working for a first-class organisation where I was able to learn, improve, and help influence winning, made last season one I won’t forget.
“Looking at the guys already locked in for next season, I have full confidence the team is headed in the right direction, and will be eagerly watching on to see what this group can achieve in NBL27.”
From the entire organisation, we wish Jack, his partner Alyssa, and their son Nash all the best for the future, and thank them for their contributions to the club.
Melbourne United will aim to fill the vacant Assistant Coach position following the appointment of a Head Coach.
