Machar shines, Maluach flies and Goulding fires over weekend

Melbourne United’s stars from NBL23 have put together strong performances across the globe this weekend.

Playing his first game after missing an extended period with an abominable injury, Malith Machar impressed in his return to the NBL1 Central.

Machar dominated, scoring 11 first quarter points en-route to a 25-point, nine rebound performance in a 101-59 victory for Forestville.

Moving north, Makuach Maluach and Josh Duach each played their first games of the regular season.

Maluach helped propel the Darwin Salties to a win with his 17 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks, while Duach fell short in his debut with North Gold Coast, finishing with nine points, three rebounds and two steals.

Moving abroad, Chris Goulding continued his hot run of form, putting in an efficient performance in another Paris victory with 13 points in 18 minutes.

The win keeps Paris in the hunt for a playoff spot with eight games remaining.

In Turkey, Xavier Rathan-Mayes was unfortunately unable to secure a win in Merkezefendi’s final regular season game, despite his nine points, five rebounds and four assists.

XRM and Merkezefendi will now wait to see who they will face in the postseason.
