Melbourne United is set to head north in September for the Hungry Jack’s NBL Blitz pre-season tournament.

The NBL has partnered with the Northern Territory Government and the Northern Territory Major Events Company to bring United, as well the nine other teams in the league, to Darwin, where 15 games will be played during the week-long preseason tournament.

Melbourne fans have already had their eyes glued on Darwin throughout the off-season, as new signing Makuach Maluach continues to dominate the NBL1 North for the Darwin Salties.

The Blitz will be an amazing opportunity for United’s fans in the top end to see their favourite stars shine on the court.

“We are absolutely delighted to be going to Darwin for the NBL Blitz,” Hungry Jack’s NBL Commissioner Jeremy Loeliger said.

“Darwin is a city filled with passionate sporting fans who are eager to engage and connect with a professional sporting league and they will get to do that during the NBL Blitz.

“Basketball is booming in the Northern Territory with strong participation numbers and the impressive performances of the Darwin Salties in their inaugural NBL1 North season.”

News about United’s schedule and opponents for the Blitz are set to arrive in the near future. Details about Melbourne United fans can tune in to watch the NBL Blitz will also be released soon.
