Melbourne United joins The LifeChanger Foundation’s virtual journey around Australia

Melbourne United is proud announce that the club has partnered with The LifeChanger Foundation.

The LifeChanger Foundation identifies and develops mentors within communities who deliver self-development workshops for teens. Their programs, with the help of their extensive list of ambassadors, help to create a world with more thriving and resilient teens with less anxiety, depression and suicide.

The CEO & Founder of LifeChanger, Scott Watters, spoke about the new partnership.

"LifeChanger is excited to be partnering with Melbourne United. Our foundation is really focused on having a positive impact on the wider community.” Watters said.

“Partnering with a club such as Melbourne United, that has a similar goal to what we do, is a really great step in the right direction.”

To kickstart the new partnership, Melbourne United has entered a team into the Foundation’s first annual KM’s4KIDS Challenge, which began last weekend.

Over the next 30 days a team of Melbourne United players, coaches, sponsors, staff, friends, fans, members and partners will walk, run, swim, cycle and paddle their way around Australia (virtually).

Each day the team tallies activity recorded via smart devices and the distances contribute to the overall goal of travelling around the Australian coastline, 18,182km.

Melbourne United CEO Vince Crivelli expressed the importance of remaining connected during what is potentially a very isolating time.

“I’m really excited to participate in this challenge with my team. We are all in lockdown here in Melbourne and need a little bit of extra motivation to get our bodies moving.” Crivelli said.

“A fun, virtual challenge like this is a great way for us all to remain connected via working towards a common goal. Not only that but doing it raises money and awareness for a really important cause.”

“We have already had an amazing amount of support from a lot of our fans and members, who have signed up and pledged their funds in order to participate. It just goes to show how fantastic the wider Melbourne United community is.”

“To also have some of our sponsors and partners not only just sign up, but also go out to their staff and broader networks in order to rally up additional support, it has been really great to see.”

“The LifeChanger programs are so important. Good mental health and well-being are paramount to getting through challenging times, so I couldn’t think of a better time to partner with an organisation that do such great things for our community.”

The KM’S4KIDS Challenge commenced on Saturday 15th August and will conclude on Tuesday 15th September.
