Whoever said you can’t have too much of a good thing has clearly never been to a Melbourne United home-game.

This rings true for the McLaughlan family, who signed up as five-game members last season, only to end up attending nine United gamedays. 

This year, the family of Jarrod, his wife Melissa and their two sons Archer and Oscar went one step further, signing up for a full-season membership.

Following a surprise visit from David Barlow and Rayjon Tucker, Jarrod spoke glowingly about the atmosphere surrounding a Melbourne United gameday.

“The atmosphere is really unique. The kids love it, we love it, we’ve followed a lot of sports over the years but nothing has really hooked us quite like the atmosphere and the team,” he continued.

“There’s non-stop entertainment before you even get inside John Cain Arena… it’s two and a half hours of jam-packed entertainment.

“It’s pretty cool to watch Chris Goulding drop all his threes in, Rayjon Tucker is a real excitement machine…  All-in-all the team’s been great, we can’t wait to see them rack up a few more wins.”

The McLaughlans, along with United’s close to 5,000 members, will be celebrated on Saturday night as part of the club’s Member Appreciation Game.

Taking place on November 26, the day will feature wall-to-wall activities and events as a thanks to all MU members who cheer hard for United every single game!
