Melbourne United NBL1 Recap: Round 8

While only three NBL1 games around the country featured United players, there were still a collection of can’t miss moments from the weekend.

Jack White - Geelong

Jack White helped lead the Geelong Supercats to a comfortable victory over the Diamond Valley Eagles on Sunday afternoon.

Going up against fellow NBL star Dejan Vasiljevic, White finished with a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with 18 points and four assists.

Makuach Maluach - Darwin

It was another stat-sheet-stuffing game for Makuach Maluach in the NBL1 North, as he helped lead the Darwin Salties to a seven-point win over Cairns.

Maluach tallied 26 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.

Shea Ili - Sandringham

After returning from a brief trip back to New Zealand, Shea Ili looked as dominant as ever in another Sabres win.

Going up against Davo Hickey, Ili top-scored, pouring in 27 points while pulling down nine rebounds, dishing out six assists, and taking away three steals.

David Okwera - Sandringham

David Okwera did his part to get Sandringham back in the win column, scoring 13 points and pulling down nine rebounds.

David Barlow - Sandringham

Barlow put together perhaps his best game of the NBL1 season so far, scoring 10 points off the bench in a win over Casey.

Dion Prewster - Sandringham

It was a difficult game for Prewster on Saturday, as his shots just couldn’t seem to find the bottom of the net.

Despite only registering three points, he found himself able to make an impact elsewhere on the court to help the Sabres to a win.

Davo Hickey - Casey

Tight defence limited Davo against Sandringham, with the wing only connecting on six of his 21 shot attempts.

He finished the game with 15 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and three blocks.
