Member passion helped bring back Marcus Lee

Wherever Marcus Lee has played across his career, he’s always been a fan favourite.

The high-flying American has played in front of adoring crowds throughout his career, ranging from his home in the USA across to Europe and down to Australia.

Now back in Melbourne for his second stint with United, Lee spoke about his anticipation of getting back in front of the club’s Members, who have always shown the big-man love.

“That’s what I’m most excited for. Going back to John Cain Arena and feeling that love from these our Members and the rest of the fans,” he continued.

“When I was here last, they welcomed me with open arms as someone coming in to join the team mid-season.

“Every game down the stretch as we were trying to make the finals was electric, and then I got to experience the other end of that last season with Tasmania.

"Coming in as an opposition player, while I wasn’t getting heckled by the Members, you could feel the energy they produce in the crowd.

“I’m very glad to be back on the positive side of that energy.”
