Kyle Bowen has helped keep his Canterbury Rams on top of the NZNBL ladder, filling up the stat sheet before slamming home a late dunk against the Hawkes Bay Hawks.
It was a back and forth game throughout, with both sides trading the lead.
One constant however was Bowen’s work on the offensive glass, with the forward creating multiple second-chance opportunities for himself and his teammates.
The victory is the Rams’ seventh in a row, keeping them ahead of Shea Ili’s Wellington Saints.
In the NBL1 South, Tanner Krebs flexed his muscle as the Ringwood Hawks picked up a high-scoring home win against the Waverley Falcons.
Krebs had 33 points, 18 of which came from beyond the arc, as well as a pair of powerful dunks.
Elsewhere in the state, Tom Wilson’s huge 25-point, 11-assist double-double wasn’t enough for the Melbourne Tigers, who came up just short in Geelong against the Supercats.
