An enormous triple-double from Kyle Bowen highlighted a huge past seven days for Melbourne United’s stars playing locally and abroad.

The forward was active all over the court, pulling down a season-high 22 rebounds, 13 of which came on the offensive glass, to go with 16 points and 10 assists on Sunday evening.

This was unfortunately not enough to pick up the victory, ending Canterbury’s winning streak, which they had extended on Thursday with a 44-point win over Otago, at 10 games.

Milton Doyle also took to the court internationally, suiting up for a pair of games in the first going down to Carolina on Thursday before bouncing back with a 17 point-12 assist double-double in a win over Aguada on Saturday.

Closer to home, Tanner Krebs, Tom Wilson and Fabijan Krslovic produced huge scoring performances in a trio of victories.

On Friday, Wilson caught fire in the second half, cashing in on six triples to propel the Melbourne Tigers past Mt Gambier by 11 points.

Krebs followed this up on Saturday night with a season-best 37-point effort against Casey, before Krslovic dropped 27 points off the bench in Sandringham’s third-straight win since the big-man joined the team.

Tom Koppens also contributed 4 points and 5 rebounds for the Sabres.

With four rounds remaining in the NBL1 South, Melbourne, Ringwood and Sandringham are all in contention for the postseason.
