Off-season Games Wrap: Cameron helps lead Airs to road victories

Flynn Cameron has played a large role in helping his Taranaki Airs pick up a pair of important road victories over the weekend in the NZNBL.

First going up against Otago, Cameron filled the statsheet, doing a bit of everything in the 13-point win.

He followed this up two nights later in a 33-point demolition of the Southland Sharks with an equally strong showing, tallying 16 points and pulling down 7 rebounds.

The two wins lifts the Airs into third position on the ladder after 12 rounds, sitting just behind United teammate Rob Loe and Auckland Tuatara.

After having their winning streak halted last week, Loe looked determined to help propel the Tuatara to a bounce back victory, which they secured over the Tauranga Whai.

Closer to home, Kyle Bowen and the Knox Raiders won both their matchups with ease, first dispatching Bendigo by 25 points before thrashing Casey 110-68.

Against the Cavaliers, Bowen registered a season-high 21 points while hitting 9 of his 10 shots from the field.

Also finding success were United’s contingent of Sandringham Sabres stars, who went on the road to take down both Hobart and NW Tasmania.

Led by Tanner Krebs (22 points per game) and Shea Ili (14.5 points per game), the Sabres built on their winning streak, which sits at nine games.

This hot run of form has them sitting first on the NBL1 South ladder.
