Matthew Dellavedova has joined some elite company over the weekend after reaching a huge milestone with the Boomers.

In his nine minutes off the bench, ‘Delly’ recorded a pair of assists, making him just the fifth player ever to reach 100 career assists in the history of the Olympic games.

The United star joins Sarunas Jasikevicius (160), Sarunas Marciulionis (121), Toni Kukoc (112) and Manu Ginobili (107) in the 100-assist club.

This came in the Boomers’ 92-80 victory over Spain on Saturday evening. Former MU Grand Final MVP Jock Landale was dominant in the victory, tallying 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Over in New Zealand, Rob Loe’s Auckland Tuatara fell in a highly competitive Grand Final showdown against the Canterbury Rams.

In his 27 minutes, the towering Kiwi stuffed the stat-sheet, finishing with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals.

It was a similar story for Akech Aliir in the NBL1 South, who’s season came to an end following a semi-final loss to the Eltham Wildcats.

Aliir ended the game with 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Both Aliir and Loe are expected to join United at Hoop City this week for the start of their preseason training.
