Shea Ili returned to the court in the NBL1 over the weekend, helping his Sandringham Sabres to a pair of wins as they move up to 4th on the NBL1 South ladder.
The dynamic guard was at his scoring best, dropping 30 points against Frankston on Friday, and then another 21 points against Bendigo on Saturday. His teammate Tanner Krebs was 1 point away from back-to-back double-doubles, as he snapped up 21 points and 13 rebounds against the Blues, and 9 points and 10 rebounds against the Braves.
Kyle Bowen’s Knox Raiders went down to the league-leading Ballarat Miners, the second overtime loss for the Raiders in as many weeks.
In Kiwi-land, both Flynn Cameron and Rob Loe enjoyed wins. Cameron’s Taranaki defeated Hawkes Bay 103-76, with Flynn snapping up 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists along the way.
But it was Rob Loe who shone brightest from the other side of the Tasman, with 21 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks as his league-leading Auckland side defeated the Nelson Giants 99-81.
