A pair of big-time performances from United center Rob Loe has helped the Auckland Tuatara extend its winning streak to eight games in the NZNBL.
Sitting on top of the table after eight rounds, Loe registered a pair of double-doubles, first against the Otago Nuggets before going off for 29 points against the Southland Sharks.
With the result up for grabs in the final term, Loe scored 16 points to guide the Tuatara to a comfortable win.
Also picking up a W across the ditch was Flynn Cameron, who did a bit of everything in Taranaki’s 38-point demolition of Manawatu.
Cameron and the Airs now sit in fourth on the competition table.
Closer to home, Tanner Krebs played hero for the Sandringham Sabres as they went on the road to take down the Eltham Wildcats 90-85.
The conference's leading scorer tallied 23 points, none of which came at a bigger moment than a deep three pointer with 90 seconds remaining to help hold off the home side.
MU Development Player Tom Koppens also put together a strong showing, adding 18 points, while Shea Ili made his return from a minor injury with eight points in 11 minutes off the bench.
Rounding out the weekend of games was Kyle Bowen, who’s near triple-double on Sunday helped Knox defeat the Hobart Chargers.
Looking to bounce back after going down to Mt Gambier on Saturday, Bowen stretched the floor, crashed the boards and dished out dimes in the 91-80 win.
