Offseason Games Wrap: Stars prepare for NBL1 postseason

Melbourne United’s stars put together some strong performances across the weekend in the penultimate Round of NBL1 games before Finals.

Tom Wilson (38 points, six rebounds, five assists) had a tremendous outing for the Melbourne Tigers in their lone game of the weekend, however it was the duo of Kyle Bowen (13 points, 10 rebounds, six assists) and Malith Machar (18 points), who led Sandringham to the upset victory.

Despite the loss, Wilson and the Tigers are poised to lock up a top-two spot on the table.

The Sabres ladder position heading into the postseason remains undecided. Bowen and Machar combined for 44 points and 14 rebounds in their second game of the weekend, but fell short against the Ballarat Miners.

Christian D’Angelo (23 points, six rebounds, five assists) played a large role in Nunawading’s fifth-straight win, improving the team’s record to 16-5.

On the other side of the globe, Jesse Edwards played limited minutes for the Milwaukee Bucks as they started their Las Vegas Summer League stint.

In two games, Edwards has tallied  eight points, two rebounds, two assists and a block.
