Schedule Update: United to face Breakers and Hawks

After a week on the sidelines, Melbourne United is ready to return to action in a big way across Round 7 of the NBL22 season.

The defending champs will first face the New Zealand Breakers on Friday, January 14 from 7.30PM at MyState Bank Arena in Tasmania.

The game will be classified as a road contest for United, who will look to repeat their previous showing against the Breakers, a 23-point victory on December 19.

The matchup will be televised on ESPN via Foxtel and Kayo.

Following this, Melbourne will make the trek to Wollongong to face the Illawarra Hawks on Sunday from 1pm for Game 1 of the LifeChanger Cup season series.

The Hawks currently sit one spot above United on the NBL22 ladder with a 3-1 record.

The game will be available to fans for free via 10 Peach and Kayo Freebies.

Melbourne’s game against Cairns, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, will be rescheduled at a later date.

These changes were made in line with the NBL’s Covid health and safety protocols.

The health and safety of the players, coaches, clubs, staff and fans is the League’s number one priority when considering these matters.

The NBL will continue to follow the advice of governments and health authorities.

Regular testing of all players and staff will continue, while further testing will be carried out on individuals impacted or those deemed close contacts.
