Melbourne United will take an altered lineup into the NBL Blitz in Canberra

Shea Ili will miss both games of the NBL Blitz as he continues to participate in basketball conditioning after experiencing minor concussion symptoms following an offseason incident.

High Performance Manager Steve McAdam provided an update on Ili’s progress ahead of his projected return to the court on 12 September against the Brisbane Bullets.

“The club decided with Shea to go through an independent concussion review process after multiple minor concussion symptoms in recent seasons,” he explained.

“This process involved seeking multiple experts in their field to test and provide recommendations for both current and future prognosis.

“The results of these were extremely encouraging for Shea returning to play now and for the rest of his career. We are planning a basketball conditioning block that will involve our final practice game and have him available for the start of the NBL season.”

Chris Goulding will also miss the first game of the Blitz, with the aim to return for our clash with the Brisbane Bullets on Saturday.
