Take a look at what stood out statistically from HoopsFest right here

Welcome to STAT WRAP, Melbourne United’s weekly round-up of all the key stats from our games. Take a look below at who shined on the court, and the trends leading the way throughout the team.

LOCKDOWN LOE

Stepping into the starting lineup for the first time in his Melbourne United career, Rob Loe showed just how effective he can be at both ends of the floor.

In his 19 minutes, Loe was a huge presence around the rim, walling up to contest shots and using his size to muscle Australian Boomers big-man Will Magnay out of the way for rebounds.

While he didn’t record a block in United’s victory, Loe came away from Round 1 with the NBL’s best individual Defensive Rating (82.7), as well as the third highest rebound percentage (24.8%).

DELLY DROPPING DIMES

After leading the NBL in assists per game last season, Matthew Dellavedova showcased that getting his teammates involved is still up towards the top of his priorities list.

‘Delly’ accounted for 34 of United’s 88 points, scoring 21 of his own and finding teammates for open looks to the tune of 13 points.

Among all the players in the opening round to have dished out at least six assists, only Sydney’s Jaylen Adams scored more points than Dellavedova.

Throughout all of this creation, the NBA Championship-winning guard tallied just one turnover.

KREBS IS CASH

Fresh off a great offseason playing in the NBL1 and a strong set of pre-season performances, Tanner Krebs made the most of his opportunities on Thursday night.

Across the NBL Blitz, Krebs shot the ball at 40% from beyond the arc, which could have only helped steel his confidence heading into the matchup with the JackJumpers.

While he only played under 12 minutes, Krebs was effective in stretching the floor, splashing both of his three-point looks and finishing the game with the team +7 in his time on the floor.

United’s stars will look to continue this strong play as they head into the first Throwdown matchup of the season on Thursday 26 September from 7:30pm against the SEM Phoenix.

With so much excitement ahead of NBL25, the time is now to lock in your seats to see United’s return to John Cain Arena.
