Speaking to the media on Tuesday afternoon, Vickerman said that United will always be his home, regardless where he is coaching in the world.

“I think any time you talk about the nine years as a coach (with United), the two years with the Tigers and (my time) as a player, you say, ‘Yeah, it's been 13 years of a journey here and it's not done’.
That's what I really enjoy about this press conference today and the conversations that we've had with ownership and with (CEO) Nick (Truelson) and Boydy (COO Mark Boyd) to say, ‘Hey, when your journey's done, we want to stay in touch, we want to try and build relationships.’
“I'm probably not coming back as a team manager, but maybe there's an opportunity to help the club in a different way after this as well, because this is my home team.
“This is the club that I love, and so my emotion is that I love this club and I want to see them succeed.”
Vickerman will be available to assist United throughout its process to find a new Head Coach.
