Travers excited to join new ‘family’ with United

During his time with Melbourne United, Head Coach Dean Vickerman has stressed the importance of creating a team-oriented environment.

The initiative has clearly paid off, with two Championships in his six seasons with the club, as well as numerous deep finals runs.

For incoming superstar Luke Travers, the benefits of this playing setting were obvious, even as an opposition player.

“I think it’s the togetherness that has me most excited,” he said.

“Becoming a part of that brotherhood and that family for the next three years is something I’m really looking forward to.”

A versatile forward capable of defending multiple positions and handling the ball, Travers has been impressed by United’s team building across the offseason.

“Being a part of the team the club is putting together has me really excited,” he said.

“This group really complements my game and I feel like I can complement theirs at the same time.”

The signing of Travers, along with the return of Jo Lual-Acuil Jr and the additions of Tanner Krebs and Flynn Cameron gives Melbourne United one of the strongest local cores in the league as they continue to progress through the offseason.
