United add second Grassroots Game for NBL24 against The Breakers

Melbourne United is excited to announce that The Grassroots Game will return in Round 19 when MU face off against the NZ Breakers on Sunday February 11, 2024.

Following the rousing success of United’s sold-out Grassroots Game against the Tasmania JackJumpers in Round 2, the club has added in a second game to bring together even more young hoopers and their families to see the league’s most accomplished team take to the court.

Melbourne United CEO Nick Truelson touched on his anticipation to see thousands more junior players come together once again.

“At Melbourne United, it’s our purpose to use the power of basketball to inspire, entertain and enrich people’s lives, and we believe that The Grassroots Game is an event that helps us deliver on that purpose,” he said.

“To see a sold-out crowd full of excited young basketball players in the crowd for the first Grassroots Game of the year was really special. We got to celebrate them on Sunday, and we can’t wait to do it again in Round 19.”

Like the first edition of The Grassroots Game, amazing prizes will be up for grabs such as a training session with a Melbourne United Assistant Coach and player, and signed memorabilia rewarding groups with 10 to 100+ people.

A post-game signing session will also take place for any fans in attendance wearing their junior basketball club uniform.
