United enjoy enlightening UIB Major Luncheon

Written by Melbourne United Media

Melbourne United’s annual United In Business (UIB) Major Luncheon took place last Friday, bringing together 350 business members from across the country to connect, network and hear from some of Australia’s top basketball minds.

Taking place at Zinc at Federation Square and emceed by Neroli Meadows, the event included a one-on-one interview and Q&A with Australian Boomers Head Coach Brian Goorjian, as well as a panel discussion with Andrew Gaze, Jeremy Loeliger and Matt Scriven.

UIB members, such as Derrimut 24:7 Gyms CEO Ashley Own, raved about the afternoon and the opportunity to link up with fellow club partners.

“It’s been absolutely amazing to be in this room full of all the corporate partners that have aligned,” he said.

“It’s really good to be a part of a club that’s growing because there’s a number of businesses in the room with that same mindset and we’re certainly one of them so the day’s been perfect.”

These sentiments were echoed by Quest Apartments, NewQuay franchisee Stacy Andronikos, who touched on why he loves being a UIB member.

“I think it just brings my brand to life. I talk to other like-minded business owners and operators… I’ve had a really good outcome and benefit from being a member.”

As the day came to a close, Melbourne United Commercial Development Manager Jake Summers spoke glowingly about the event and how pleasing it was to bring the UIB community together.

“We’ve got an enormous corporate audience at Melbourne United so to be able to bring them all together in the one room has just been terrific.

“We’ve got so many people involved with the club whether it be sponsorship, hospitality or through our United In Business program so one thing that we try to do is bring them together through events like this.

“We encourage anyone that’s looking to network and really tap into our corporate audience to become a United In Business member.”
