United flexible when addressing needs ahead of Free Agency

Having put together a number of different roster constructions over recent seasons, Dean Vickerman is keeping all options open ahead of the start of Free Agency.

Rather than penciling in potential imports at specific positions, Vickerman explained that his focus is building a lineup that can create good shots, while also being able to lock down defensively.

Sitting down with Melbourne United Media, Vickerman broke down his thoughts on NBL26, and how the planning has been so far ahead of NBL27.

“I think the roster continues to be adaptable to the type of free agents that you're able to secure,” he explained.

“There could be a roster that's heavy in imports at the guard positions, could be a roster that's like this year where we have a center in imports, so there's a number of different ways and we're not locked in to say this is the type of roster we need.

“We know we just need to get better in the creation of good shots and have enough shooting on the floor but still have this defensive mindset.”

Currently, Chris Goulding, Shea Ili, Dash Daniels, Fabijan Krslovic and Kyle Bowen are contracted for next season.
