United open NBL24 season with blockbuster Throwdown XXI

Melbourne United’s first game of the season will see the side face off in a huge Throwdown XXI clash against the South East Melbourne Phoenix.

The blockbuster matchup will open up the NBL24 season for the entire league on Thursday 28 September, with all the action tipping off at 7:30pm AEDT.

After splitting the season series last year, United will look to re-establish Throwdown dominance in the 21st instalment of the matchup.

Since the two sides started facing off in 2019, Melbourne have won 13 of the 20 games, and last year recorded the largest ever Throwdown victory, a 110-85 win in Round 6.

Tickets to the season-opening clash will go on sale at a later date, so keep an eye on the Melbourne United socials.
