United's SuperCoach hot tip of the week: Round 12

I’m torn on Melbourne United players for NBL Supercoach this week.

The ladder leaders have so many productive players but, as one of only two teams with single-game rounds, how many can we have in our squads?

With a jam-packed schedule ahead, you could pull the trigger early on Jo Lual-Acuil Jr (C, $392,100), who is the seventh-highest scorer in Supercoach over the past five rounds (42.7).

But we’re going to hold tight on the big fella this week and focus our attention on United’s moneymakers.

Last week, I said Ariel Hukporti (C, $181,000) was one of the buys of the round and he didn’t disappoint with 48 points across two games and a $31k price rise.

Big A is in great form, averaging 30.3 across his past three rounds and, with a zero break even this round, he is still a great buy, given his ability to post big numbers and guarantee of making more cash for your team.

Staying with the money-making theme, two forwards who posted brilliant performances in Kyle Bowen (F, $125,700) and Tanner Krebs (F, $108,700) should both pile up the coin this week.

Ever reliable Bowen has been Dean Vickerman’s Mr Fix-It in his rookie year, stepping in and performing at a high level throughout United’s early-season injury issues.

Bowen crushed it against South East Melbourne on Thursday night with nine points and three steals in the first quarter alone, on his way to 31 Supercoach points for the round and a price increase of more than $15,000.

His break even is just 2, so he’ll bank more money for you.

Teammate Krebs grows more comfortable in his role behind NBL MVP fancy Chris Goulding by the day and that confidence translated to 25 Supercoach points last round, including three deep daggers in a close win over Adelaide.

He’ll only need to score four points to produce another price increase and, at just over $100k, he might be your path to a premo.
