United to hold commentary showcase during preseason matchup

Melbourne United’s upcoming preseason game against the Cairns Taipans is set to provide a platform for four pairs of up-and-coming basketball commentators.

Each quarter, fans watching the stream of our matchup on Saturday 29 August at Casey Stadium will hear a new tandem take to the mic to call the action.

Following the contest, we’re asking you to vote for your favourite pair, with the winners earning a paid opportunity to call our final hit-out ahead of the start of the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season against the New Zealand Breakers on Thursday 10 September.

Three of the duos will be familiar voices for those who tuned into the NBL1 South across the offseason, with Jamie Hamilton and Jackson MacDonald calling the first, Todd Morris and Hayley Wildes taking the third, while Daniel Sedlarevic and Michael Thompson will finish the proceedings in the fourth.

The second period will however be manned by two of the hosts of the Melbourne United Fan Podcast, Bringing The Blue, in Caleb van Raay and Tom Christie.
