Melbourne United is thrilled to announce it will be hosting a huge 3x3 community tournament at its home of Hoop City, Cheltenham on Sunday 26 June.

Taking place on Boonwurrung land, United are inviting Indigenous and multicultural athletes from all over the state to showcase their skill on the 3x3 court in front of Melbourne players and coaches.

The event will feature three divisions of action, Mixed 12-14s, Mixed 16-18s and Mixed opens, with each team playing three games before the finals.

Melbourne United is committed to its work within Melbourne’s multicultural landscape, as showcased in NBL22 with our Multicultural Game and heavy involvement in Indigenous Round, as well as our ongoing involvement with organisations like Helping Hoops and the Koorie Basketball Academy.

Melbourne United CEO Nick Truelson touched on his anticipation for the event.

"At Melbourne United one of our key club values is inclusion and part of that is helping to bring Melbourne’s multicultural community together. The upcoming 3x3 event is an example of this Through events like these, we hope to help Unite all of Melbourne. We can't wait to see all the talent take to the floor" he said.

The day will open with a Welcome to Country, before games will kick off at 11am.

Running alongside the tournament will be a three-point shooting competition, as well as a deadly dunk contest.

Our friends at Roll’d Vietnamese will be providing food throughout the event, and there will be a boatload of prizes up for grabs courtesy of United.

Registration is OPEN NOW and will close on Friday 17 June.
