Jack White broke down United’s NBL Blitz campaign and previewed HoopsFest

After a long layoff, Melbourne United are finally set to play our first game of the NBL25 season in less than a week.

Set to match up against the Tasmania JackJumpers in a Grand Final rematch from NBL24, the excitement is through the roof ahead of the September 19 clash.

One player who is brimming with excitement is Jack White, who will suit up for his first meaningful game in United colours in over 860 days.

Speaking after his side’s final game of the NBL Blitz on Thursday evening, White touched on what he and his teammates learnt at the preseason tournament, and previewed what HoopsFest will be like.

“It (the Blitz) was a great experience for us… It's great to beat up on someone else for a change,” he said.

“Great to be at the end of the preseason now and I'm looking forward to HoopsFest. Obviously with a few different lineups throughout the week… We can play small, we can play big, we've got a lot of versatile guys on the squad, but most importantly, we're coming out of this tournament with guys healthy, we're looking forward to our first game.

“We’ll travel back to Melbourne, have a few days to sort of decompress to get back on the training court and keep building towards the things that we wanna work on.

“Obviously we’re looking forward to playing Tassie over in Perth and it's gonna be a good challenge for us.  They got a few games under their belt playing in the Intercontinental Cup and we're gonna try to play with a great pace, obviously assuming that they're gonna be a bit heavy on the legs.

“We're just focusing on ourselves, there's still so much that we can improve on, we're just controlling the controllable right now.”

With so much excitement ahead of NBL25, the time is now to lock in your seats to see United’s return to John Cain Arena.

The only way to make sure you don’t miss a second of United basketball during NBL25 is by securing a ticket today, or by standing United with us and becoming a member.
