Vickerman still searching for team’s ceiling

Looking to pick up a second straight road win, Head Coach Dean Vickerman is eager to see how much better the team can be across the back end of the NBL26 season.

Speaking on SEN, Vickerman touched on his thoughts from the scrappy victory over Brisbane, the potential of the team, before previewing our next game against Tasmania.

“We got back to playing some really good basketball,” he said.

“It was a really pleasing aspect to make Chris (Goulding) an absolute priority on offence and get him rolling.

“I don’t know how good this team can be. We’ve had Shea Ili for seven games, some of those have only been half games. Chris has been sick and injured throughout this year and we lost Finn Delany for our last game as well.

“We’ve had our full team on the floor for 13 minutes of the season right now. We just want to try and get everybody on the floor, healthy and connected, and then hopefully we can make a run at it.

“We’ve got 11 games to go, we play every team again so you’re going to finish where you’re going to finish.

“Tassie is our next one, we’ve got them twice in this period, one here and one at HoopsFest, so we’ve got to find a way to beat them. They gave us a pretty good hiding last time we played them.”

Fans can tune in to our next game live on ESPN from 7:30pm on Saturday 3 January.
